Hi guyz., what do you think of yahoo grabbing all tlds and country domains like ac, am etc?.
They say that itz trademarked name.

I tried registering www.yahoo.ac 2 years before and also made their payment. But they dint register it for 1 full year and now registered it to yahoo. :(

Looks like they like to claim their domains first. :p

Seems like you are lucky to have not registered it in the first place and to not subsequently get sued by Yahoo for their name. Going after trademarked names is never a good idea when domain namespaces are set up to preserve TM holders' names.

Whether they register it first or not, anyone doing so would probably lose a name that unicque and prominant to the industry in a flash in a WIPO dispute filing. It's just easier and cheaper for them to register than find and file against TM squatters.

Bad choice of even trying to go for a name like that, especially Yahoo! by not getting the domain you probably saved yourself a whole lot of trouble, time and possible lawyer fees.

Not to mention a black mark on your reputation, being branded a "cybersquatter", and potentially having your name in a searchable WIPO/UDRP database.
