true that, but all domains of 5 letters will be short, believe me My point is that unlike the market of 4-letters, for 5 - many good options are still available for hand reg or all auctions for cheap - the ones that will make good brandables, and without double letters.

Quite possible, but the difference is those good brandable names are not registered yet and so not appearing in any marketplace. so who knows taking some risk there might pay off well. Btw, freevaluator appraises this domain above $20k (who knows why) so assuming they are just 5% correct, I would still be very happy

That's a very wrong idea, sorry. How come being registered before makes a brandable name more attractive for a client? The brandables are all about sounding and spelling easy, fluently, memorable, punchy - that's it. I wouldn't worry about the history here at all. For sure, more such names were registered than left on hand reg - true, but doesn't mean you can't find it for $8,50...
But if you don't like hand reg, just because someone told you you can't make money nowadays out of it (another very wrong idea to me) - fine, don't register. But there are still plenty of them in the auctions.
Just filter them correctly on ExpiredDomains you'll get some good ones within a few days on Pending-Delete.

So many 5 letter .coms that are available, superior to this. Relatively little value, in my opinion
