XR can be X Reality or Extended Reality.

Either way it describes the spectrum just like mixed reality.

Been looking around and shopping for a while now, saw many companies choosing to rebrand to xr or just starting with xr in their names..

Those are only some of my findings that are already developed (there are many more undeveloped by major companies like unity/sony etc..)

Decide for yourself.

Not sure of what SSS stands for, but I know it's great. LOL!

I usually don't report sales and since @Hugo_Strange and @Elad n already reported this sale before me (been really busy this couple of months) i wasn't going to mention the sale but what the heck, it's always good to share especially in a industry that i believe in and support.

So sold GeniusXR.com for 6.5k a while back, it's the highest 2 words reported sale in XR (from my knowledge without considering 4L sales) i think the highest one before mine was XRstories.com which @Elad n sold for 2K.

Offer came from sedo mls and started with $100 negotiate it to 6.5k, in that moment in time i was willing to sell it for that amount for personal reasons, the buyer actually let the counter offer expire, which wasn't a big deal for me because the original price i had in mind was much higher ($xx,xxx) and honestly was bit regretting making such a low counter since i really liked the name and saw great potential in it.

A couple of days after my counter offer expired got an offer for 6.5k from the same person, i could be that guy and send the domain to auction or quote a higher price but i'm a men of my word and after some research i thought that i knew who the enduser was (actually was right on the spot) and it would be used for XR which i support all innovations in this industry and love to help it grow since i see great potential and can see XR helping lot's of people in many types of areas, so accepted the offer.

Funny a while back couldn't picture me selling this domain name for a lower amount then 10k and had a project in mind to develop the domain name but it just goes to show it's all about timing.

Been receiving some interesting offers on my XR names this couple of months but received a mid $xxx for one of them recently which i'm almost absolutely sure it's from a well known XR company, i quoted a high price (it's high at least for this stage since XR is still in it's infancy stage IMO) haven't heard back from them but since then been seeing high conversion of traffic for that domain compared to past reports.

I left some space for negotiation but won't sell this one for lower then mid $xx,xxx (on a good day) :xf.grin:.

A great person once told me "You can be flexible but never second doubt yourself" greatest advice i ever received.

PS: @Hugo_Strange you did very good research i was still waiting for the sale to appear on namebio and you already had reported it here (y)

@Hugo_Strange Black XR and Ultimate XR were in my list good eye (y)

GeniusXR is not the kind of domain you normally expect to go for 6k, so I'm not really celebrating that sale as a win for those of us who invested in *keywords* rather than random brandables.

There are still many more XR brandables names still available, but no one is regging them, because counting on those to sell is like betting on the lottery rather than educated investing.

The sale in general was still good news for XR though, of course...

I don't agree with you, almost in every industry companies go for brandables and pay big amounts for them including in XR.

Examples:

JauntXR.com
XRnation.com
InceptionXR.com
Pixvana.com
ConductXR.com
8i.com
ProsperXR.com
EmpaticaXR.com

The list goes on.

The reason for this is because companies may start in a specific area but they may want to expand into other areas in the future and if they start by branding them self as an exact match keyword there is a big probability they will have to rebrand in the future.

I think this companies are well aware of this because many already had brands established with VR, AR, MR etc... as they grow and need to expand into other realities now they have to rebrand their establish brand, doesn't make sense your company be called something VR when you now provide AR, MR, AI as well.

As the term XR gets more established i think we will see more companies branding with a brandable keyword + XR and vice verse, i think many will probably brand them self with terms that won't even have XR in the name such as Pixvana.com, 8i.com etc... but most will have the term XR in my opinion because it will be a term so recognizable they will have to use it, i mean it's just like VR and AR it explains instantly to the consumer what they are all about.

Example: If your a consumer and your searching for extended reality in search engines when you see Pixvana.com and JauntXR.com which one will the you the consumer instantly think "this is a company that specialize in extended reality", of course its the one that has XR in it.
Pixvana will have to invest a lot of money to educate the consumer that their a big company that specializes in extended reality where Jaunt XR will have to spend much less because the name or domain already does much of the work for them.

This is a great example of the benefits that a powerful domain name with good potential will have, it will be short, easy to pronounce, remember and will identify to the consumer what their company is all about, in return and long term it will save the company millions in marketing and branding.

Of course exact match keyword domains will also have high value there are companies that have no interest in expanding to other areas, they only wan't to be the "best" in their specific area and what is better then a domain name that identifies the exact industry, like for example EducationXR.com, XRGames.com, CasinoXR.com, XRDesign.com etc...

Also you mention "There are still many more XR brandables names still available, but no one is regging them, because counting on those to sell is like betting on the lottery rather than educated investing."

Well your right when you say brandables are more of a shot in the dark then exact match that's pure logic but doesn't mean there isn't opportunity in them and even brandables have a pattern otherwise places like brandbucket wouldn't be so successful.

In the short XR domain sales reported mine and @Elad n were brandables does this mean out of every XR brandable reg we were the lucky ones that won the lottery? if that's the case then i and pretty sure other members here that have brandables and been receiving low to reasonable offers on them have won the lottery many times.

Also i been reg brandable XR domains, seen members here that also been doing the same thing and domains that were on my list to reg are no longer available so i think when you mention "There are still many more XR brandables names still available, but no one is regging them" it's not entirely true.

I do think exact match XR domains will sell for a lot and have a lower risk especially ones in the advertising, marketing, media and design space those probably are already receiving very reasonable offers for sure since this spaces are currently "hot" and trending in XR right now but as XR matures to other areas the offers will start to increase IMO.

Wow... That is one long dialog.... But what exactly are you disagreeing with?? You seem new to the thread. Welcome! And congrats if that was your sale! My post was not specific and mainly directed to the other vets who have been posting here and are familiar with my views. I likely have more XR domains than you, so if you thought I was knocking the niche you are greatly mistaken....

I said that geniusxr is something to celebrate for XR domains in general, just not specifically an indication that XR keywords domains in this niche are picking up yet, soooo what exactly are you disagreeing with??? Lol... Sorry I'm a little perplexed that you wrote nearly a novel about how you disagree with my two paragraphs, yet I don't see anything specifically that is contrary to what I said lol...

It's not like I said that brandables are valueless. There is obviously evidence of the contrary on namebio every day.

I have at least a dozen or two dozen XR brandables like GirlfriendXR and PresenceXR...so I wasn't disagreeing with the perceived general value of XR brandables - something you would know if you follow my posts (something I don't expect everyone to do of course, but just saying, maybe you misunderstood my perspective).

P.S. I think it's too early to say that in any immersive niche that keyword domains won't sell as much as brandables. You speak as if these industries have already reached their max maturity. When it does that's when keywords domains, especially with affiliates will take off like a rocket - which is why I've invested the majority of my domains in adult and gambling niches - some of the most lucrative niches that could see the highest sales in all of XR AR and VR.

It's also worth mentioning that what a brand able is in immersive niches can be subjective, because when you put the acronym at the end of a keyword (keyword + XR) it could be perceived as a brandable, even though it contains a generic keyword. "XR Casinos" is what English speakers will search for, not "Casino XR".

So maybe there should be a hybrid term: Keyword-Brandable or keyables lol...

Also worth mentioning that also with brandables u can limit your risk by going for keywords like
TrueXR
SmartXR
BestXR

Etc.

Those are some of the first keyword/brandables that I check for when considering a new niche.

(bestxr is definitely a keyword-brandable, because people always search for the "best ____" according to Google numbers)
