Yes, I bet you are. Why wait for your friend? Find a template online that most closely matches what you had in mind (there are some really sweet ones out there for a really good price). You pay about 60-75 dollars for the template, make your changes where they're needed, and upload. If you use templatemonster.com the template is yours, completely-they just don't want you to resell the template (if you sell the website, it's fine, but you can't sell the template by itself).
