any idea on the value of wwwyahoo.com - and the like. Do they really get very many type ins? Please share your experience.

What about less popular ones, like wwwfurniture.com ... I am just trying to determine if these type of domains are worth anything.

They would get some typins from people who bother to put the www. in and justforget the dot, not that i see any point in putting the www in :P

A good way to see if a "www_____.com" name gets traffic is to use the France Overture tool..The USA Overture blocks out "www" before names and shows 0 for everything, even wwwyahoo.com shows as 0 which surely gets massive traffic.
A rough estimate is if a domain has an Overture with extension of 2000,then the "www_______.com" version has about a 30 OVT with ext.
I've gotten a few good typos like this. They really have no value as far as finding an end-user,but you should be able to make good PPC off a good one.

I heard they do pretty well even though overture doesnt say so

We do get a lot of traffic on some domain names.
I have to say it all depends on the domain itself

I only have one name, and it does really, really well. It only gets about 10-20 views and usually 2 clicks. Every click is worth upwards of 1.60, so it's very nice.

If you had something without as good as topic, you'd obviously need more traffic.

Wow, $1.60 is nice.

So...looks like the next step is to put www before the top 100,000 names on Alexa. Better yet, I wonder if my subscription to OVTdomainnames.com is still good.

They do well for nice keywords. I haven't registered any, because I like domains that have also a development potential, but they seem like a good choice, investment wise.

Great info, so you have data that shows getting about 1.5% of the France Overture, as type-ins?

If so, this is a very interesting investment avenue.

I wonder... if you registered one and developed it into a huge site, would you then have people registering wwwwwwyourname.com as a typo? :p

You guys inspired me to reg wwwsbaloans.com & wwwsbaloan.com

sba loan(s) has OVT of 19,724
sbaloans.com has OVT of 78
max keyword bid is $1.15.
It has good stats on Google too with and without apostrophes.

We'll see how they go.

Realistically, you only want to get wwwdomain.com names that have parent ovt+ext in the thousands unless it's a high paying keyword. The higher parent OVT, the better. With OVT of only 78, I don't think you are going to see much traffic, but hopefully I'm wrong. I've done ok with wwwdomain.com typos, but there seem to be very few left with good parent OVT. Everybody is running scripts to find them. I regged a real estate one about 3 weeks ago which had OVT of about 1200 and have only seen about 8 hits so far.

PS: For anybody that has both wwwdomain and wwwldomain names, which does better? There are still a ton of wwwl typos left, but something tells me they don't do as well.

But if you want a wwwdomain.com it's better for the <domain> part to be shorter? You can't expect someone to type a domain and accidentally forgetting the dot [.] and find themselves in your site..

I've got one that is wwwxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com. That's the one that I'm getting about 2 clicks a day on. Not much traffic, but it pays for itself in 2-3 days.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is substituting for actual name. ;) I don't want to inflate or affect my stats by having people visit the page.
