www. and without having different PR

I noticed that when you check the PR some websites, the PR (PageRank) is different if you input say www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com. This is really ticking me off since some of my backlinks goes to www and go to the site without www, possibly lowering my PR. Do you guys know of a way to either prevent it or tips on doing so?

You can try to take the highest PR, see is this on www. or w/o www, then set 301 redirect by .htaccess to this higheså point - with or without PR.

You cannot prevent people doing links with or without www unfortunately.

Yes, there will always be people linking to you with www and some others who will link you without www, which will cause the PR of one version to leak to the other.

Redirecting to your own domain to avoid (www)/Non www.) differences is not.
