Cheers, for the insight. Of course they are all long gone.
I guess value could be added by how it is branded.
I do have some ideas for it, including using it as a home page for a vidcast/podcast series I'm thinking of filming. Then I would sell merchandise like T-shirts etc with the logo on them. I think I could develop it in that way... Thoughts?
Also, how accurate are leapfish.com's appraisals? Their automated appraisal thingy seems to think it's worth $4400!
BTW it has been parked courtesy of godaddy since late Oct 2006 and slowly getting some history.

well leapfish is nothing but a joke. do not trust the appraisals made by them. i have seen many newbies regging domains and "trying" to sell domains which they claim have been appraised XXX by leapfish.

therefor even if Leapfish says ur domains is worth a million bucks then also i would not buy anything that they say

regarding ur domain i would just say that frankly ur visitors will have a otugh time figuring what that address was.. some people would type one "v" extra , some one "v" less and overall u will eventually get very less visitors than u had expected and would have got if a domain had been more accurate..

my recommendation would be to go for some other name

I agree. Theres lot of chance that u lose potential customers to others because of typo errors even if u develop it

Thanks to all for your insights. I will take that onboard and reconsider my dev idea. Hadn't thought of the typo error prob.

I've been both amused and frustrated by these type of names posted for sale. Bottom line is that if used to "fool" someone into thinking it is "www." it is a fake and will frustrate and may anger whoever comes to that site.

However, if it is developed into an antiphishing, consumer awareness type site - teaching by example - the "AHAH" factor might be quite powerful.

Best of luck.

$0-reg fee. In essence, you're looking for a reverse typo effect, where people would type www.com - you need wvvv.com. yep, you can play with the logo and such, but this one of the domains that if it's not developed, there's practically no market for it. In other words, to make this one valuable, you'll have to create a market for it. :imho:

When I eventually start my podcast series you will know exactly what it means. You may even want a T-shirt, lol. Without giving all away, here are some clues.
Think Get Smart (spy spoof), virus fighting organisation, job is to keep WWW running smoothly, a character called Miss Software, and a quote by a certain famous Roman. hehe

I'm not sure if you'll be able to say: I came, I saw, I conquered well, maybe you will be, i'm not sure that it will be with this domain, though. ;)

Thanx for the heads up on Leapfish. You're a champ buddy.
Hopefully this baby won't end up being the 'one that got away'!

And, glad my strange name made you smile ACC.

... right, enough corny jokes for one day, me thinks.
