Hi,
I'm new here, have read a ton of things, but still am not sure how all of this works!

I own WriteMyBook.com and wonder what it's worth and how I can learn more about how to sell it. I don't understand how the auction works here. I've read here on the forums that there are sites like Sedo.com and that some are successful using eBay.

Do you think this would sell and if so, about how much should I ask for?

Thanks for any help-

Terry

In this economy, eBay isn't a bad place to sell. It's not the best, either. But if this was on eBay with a reasonable starting price, I wouldn't hesitate to bid :)

Re; WriteMyBook.com

Arch,

Thanks for your feedback. How would I know where to start the bidding and what to hope for? $50? $500?

Thanks for any help!

Terry

hey terrym ! and welcome,
at the current state of the market the domain WriteMyBook.com ,can get on a good day a low $$, this is of course now, maybe you should try to
do some developing , put content, bring traffic, back links, then the value will go up, but at the moment, you can happy with a low $$, ebay sound like a good place for such a domain,
Good Luck !

I agree, it would probally go for low xx on Ebay or most auction sites unless you put some content on it etc on it then maybe mid xx. I would start the bidding at whatever your comfortable sellign the domain for but odds it would never break $10 so me I would start the auction at $1.00 cents probally and hope to get somewhere between $20-$30.

I concur. Keep these in mind though:

1.) Don't make the starting price too high. It'll scare off bidders. If you start at $1, you might see about $30-100 or more in ids. But starting it at, say, $50, you might not see $65. It might not sound logical but hey, auctions follow little to no logic.

2.) Don't use anything longer than a 3-day auction. Your 5, 7 or 10-day auction will get into eBay's "sandbox" and might not receive any bids with the extra time. I rarely ever list for more than 3 days.

3.) Never use a reserve. Bidders typically shy away from reserve auctions. Why? Because bidders like being in an auction where they are guaranteed to win if they have the highest bid. Auctions with reserves get far less bids.

I'd start it around $14.99, days, no reserve, and see where it goes from there. If you wind up listing it, PM me a link to the auction. I'll probably bid.

:)
