live.com is microsoft's new portal that allows RSS feeds and "gadgets". its pretty much the same as their start.com site at this point, with a few minor differences, since start.com was just a technology preview. i dont see anything on here about messenger beta though. i like live.com but i'm sticking with the google personalized homepage for now (though i used start.com for a few months before that).

according to the thumbnail and whois history on whois.sc -- the site pointed to live555.com and was registered to Live Networks until Sept 28, 2005. From there, it went to Register.com, which is actually who is listed as owner in the whois info.
