if a company states that they have x prizes to give away then that is what they have to do otherwise it is false advertising. That is why they provide a list of names of winners, to prove that the prizes were given away.

The reason you do not hear of many people winning is becase for example say 1,000,000 of the coffee's were made with this promotion there may only be 1000 prizes so you have a 1 in 1000 chance of winning (ussually the odds are actually alot lower).
