Would you register a domain name that Overture says is searched for only 4 times per day?

Its a unique name and I was thinking I might be able to convert 2 out of the 4 searches per day into clicks.

I know 4 searches per day is REALLY LOW but What do you guys think?

well, are you going to park it or turn it into content?

to be honest, i wouldn't register it, especially if you get a low cpc

If you firmly believe that you would be able to convert 4 searches per day in to two clicks per day then it is a definite buy- that is 720 clicks per year- even at a ctr/ppc of just $0.02 it is more than double reg fee - need I say more :?

Have to be careful wot I say though I have been chastised for presenting facts.

It would be parked.

Its a local domain name that applies to a state service. That's why it doesn't get a lot of hits.

I'm having a hard time judging the actual traffic on this name.

Overture says 4 clicks but in Google Adwords the bar is half way in the Avg Search Volume. What does this mean?

no

Probably no. I say searches are no biggy. I learned to buy high paying key word are the best.
PeritonealMesothelioma.name is example. You must learn this now to avoid waisting months of error.

PS: 4 search per day? who says you'll ever see any of these? Go for the high paying keywords and save yourself 2 years of learning!

Also, don't be scared to go for unlikely extensions, .biz, .name, the high paying keywords pay the same in all extensions.

If available go for .com but as far as parking don't worry. all the same.

Just because there are 4 searches per day doesn't mean they will all end up on your site even if it is in the top-10 results, which is a big if. Also, 50% conversion for a parked page is pretty ambitious. I wouldn't reg it as an attempt to make money with such little potential traffic unless you think it has a really good chance of getting type-ins or you think the ads will have a very high CPC. Check SpyFu to see what your keywords will likely pay.

By the way, OVT results are per month, not per day. Did it actually come up as 120 on OVT and you just divided it by 30? Or is it actually getting 4 searches per month?

Well, I'm almost positive it would be a type in.

Google Adwords says CPC is $1.33 for that specific search term. Is this high or low?

I used this keyoword Suggestion Tool to come up with 4 clicks per month: www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion
Its says /Day next to the Overture results. Is it wrong?

I was assuming you were using it on the OVT site, http://inventory.overture.com . Overture returns a monthly amount on their site, but DP was converting it into a daily amount for you. Keep in mind that OVT results are from January and pretty outdated.

$1.33 isn't terrible, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Usually when people pick niche areas with little traffic they are targeting keywords that are $6+ per click though.

You could always register the name, and if it isn't doing anything after 5 days then delete it for a refund. Dynadot doesn't have a fee for tasting but the refund will be to your Dynadot account and not to your bank account, so you'll have to by another name eventually.

Anyway, hope that helps.
