Ok so I know HTC the phone company own the HTC trademark.
I own a website and it will have points on it which could be bought for a price. So if the points were called HTC because the abbreviation of the three words is HTC would that be a trademark violation?
I am not going to do this until I know for sure its not a violation.the domain is computer-related I think I might come up with something else.

Does the acronym have anything to do with the famous TM?

If the acronym is going to be used for something totally different it should be fine.
