Wordpress Question

hello i have just a simple blog called worldne.ws (hack name)

I am trying to verify this site at google web master tools and although i can list it for submission and get to the stage where i have to verify it , i cant figure out how to verify it ?

I can get to the meta tag and the html file to upload but i dont know where to insert either one of them ???

I would love to get this small process done and i know i am close but just cant do the final step

any help would be much appreciated

upload the html file to the same folder that contains:
/wp-admin
/wp-content
/wp-includes

or, put the meta tag in:
/wp-content/themes/{your theme name}/header.php

put it right above the </head> tag

Thanks nc to my amazement i did go to editor and found the header section ...... i looked for the part of it that had
>head
>head

And i inserted the meta tag inbetween that , and i cant believe it

..... it worked !! yippeeeeee (one small step for mankind)

Today i changed the title from 'worldne.ws' to world news

And i changed the tagline from 'one persons views about the world we live in'

To

'fun news and interesting information'

I just cant get google to pick it up though ? i am hoping this will help it ?

i also would love to know how to do the site map thing ??

i am told that is also important ?

i know how to get to web masters tools just unsure how to find it at my blog and insert it ?

Because you're using wordpress there are plugins for nearly anything...
