The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

That will be an endless discussion.
You'd better try them yourself, and choose one you like.

We had about 70 Blogger.com (blogspot) blogs for several years. We were using them on our own domains and hosting. But earlier this year we had to close them all down. Why? Because they decided that they did not want to let people use FTP to update the blogs on other hosting.

The point I am making is the free blog hosting is very nice, but not if the provider changes things or decides they don't want you as a customer. You don't pay anything and you have no rights or control.

We are now going to be using Nucleus CMS for all our blogs because we can download the script and run it on our server. You can do the same with WordPress, so I suggest you choose from the options that give you 100% complete control of your blog for all time.

I will have to saw wordpress, because it is so much more robust. Also, even Matt Cutts (of google) recommended it over blogger in one of his presentations.

Ouch. That must just suck big time. I've read similar suggestion on a blog a couple of years ago before I stated making websites which emphasized on using a platform that allows you to have 100% control of your site and your contents. This is one fat reason I alway build my sites using wordpress because everything I do and post on my site is 100% mine, meaning I own it and can do anything with it. As for blogspot, you cannot transfer your posts to another web host when they decide to pull the plug on your blog and since your using their platform they own every single one of your posts.

So if you ask me which platform to pick. I will choose Wordpress over Blogspot anytime.

By the way, I'm sorry to hear that happen to you. That must have been a nightmare.
