Wordpress - Google Analytics

I'm looking for a little advice on how to install Google Analytics on a self-hosted Worldpress blog.

I've been unable to get Google to confirm it is tracking on the homepage. Is there something specific I need to do or a place I need to put the code?

Yep. It is as simple as that. Google analytics gives you this instruction. Just have to follow it and you are all set.

[Hitch]

All you have to do is, open the theme your are using, select footer.php, and add your code in there, before the </body> tag, and it works just fine.

No plugin needed. : /
