Can anyone find WLS mentioned on the "new" SnapNames website since they revised it? The old one had a whole FAQ on WLS and how they would convert to it. Now I can find no such promise:

What will happen to my SnapBack?
SnapNames will attempt to convert all SnapBack subscriptions (that are current as of WLS launch date) for COM and NET domain names to WLS subscriptions at the time WLS goes into effect.

This will be done in accordance with ICANN rules, which mandate that no registrar have any better access to the registry than any other. Accordingly, SnapNames cannot guarantee that we will be 100% successful at obtaining WLS reservations for specific domain names now under SnapBack subscription. We will of course make every effort to do so.

Will my current SnapBack subscription continue to work for me until WLS launches?
Yes, until WLS launches, SnapBack will continue to monitor any back-ordered domain name and attempt to acquire it if it is released. (Note: Services will continue up to the date of WLS availability or until your SnapBack® subscription expires, whichever comes first.)

I have credits in my SnapNames account. What will be done with them?
These also are eligible for conversion into WLS. Simply pick a domain name you'd like to back-order via WLS and request that we attempt to secure a WLS position for you.

Read this ICANN document stating conditions required to accept the WLS.

http://www.icann.org/correspondence/jeffrey-to-lewis-26jan04.pdf

See the first indented paragraph which states:

Condition B: No preference shall be given in connection with, or exclusion from, WLS because of any registrar-level reservation service.

VeriSign implementation: VeriSign has agreed that it will not give any preference (or exclusion) in connection with WLS to any registrar as a result of its participation in any registrar-level reservation service. VeriSign will not "grandfather" any registrar-level backorder or waiting list reservations, and will not exclude any registered names from availability for WLS subscriptions.

The way I read this is that snapnames reservations WILL NOT be grandfathered, and nor will any backorders at pool, namewinner, etc, as I've italicized above.

Your service period will not begin until SnapNames receives actual payment of the subscription or registration fee, or reasonable assurance of payment of said fees from a third party, such reasonable assurance to be determined by SnapNames in its sole discretion. All fees must be prepaid and are non-refundable, in whole or in part, even if the subscription is suspended or cancelled prior to the end of the subscription period and/or the domain name registration is suspended, cancelled or transferred prior to the end of the registration term. In the event of a charge back by a credit card company or other payment provider, your subscription will immediately terminate and/or your domain name registration will be transferred to SnapNames as the paying entity for the registration.
