I was browsing through DNJournal.com this morning and reading this week's big sellers and noted that the editor made a comment to the UNKNOWN $355,000 sale this week that they couldn't post due to a Non-Discolsure agreement.

Everyone KNOWS its the WirelessPhone.com deal that Afternic pout together.

Why?

Because Roger Collins, owner of Afternic, publically announced it on his personal Blog!

So why, if it were announced publically, can't DNJournal publish it?

Perhaps, because the NDA is between Afternic and DNJournal? Kinda makes you wonder how many other deals are censored from DNJournal...

Hmmm....

This appears to have resulted from some confusion at Afternic. When our current column was published last Tuesday (May 30) Afternic told us the sale was subject to an NDA. The next day, Roger published the domain name and final price on his blog. I have been on vacation the past week and was not aware this had happened until this morning when one of our readers sent me an email about it. Our new column will be out tonight and the sale will now be included since Afternic has publicly released the information. We will honor privacy requests when asked to, but once information has been publicly released by a reliable source then there is obviously no longer an obligation for non disclosure.

Your question about deals being censored specifically from DNJournal is an interesting one because there was actually an instance where a seller told us he didn't want to disclose the name and price for us to publish because too many people would see it, but he had posted it on a forum! (not NamePros) I told him that made it pubic information and we would report it, so he quickly edited his post at that forum to remove the info. It's either private or it isn't. :)

LOL... Thanks for the insight and information. DNJ is such a great resource and it's nice to see it continues to lead with integrity.
