The longest match ever played on the center court.
The latest ending time at 9.20 pm
The king of Wimbledon dethroned.
While i'm a huge Federer fan, Nadal played incredible tennis today.

Congrats to all the Spanish -
European Champion
Wimbledon Champion
....it's conquistador 21st century style.

I'm also a huge Federer fan, but as zehrila said, this time Nadal deserved it.

After today's fantastic game who can argue that Nadal is the new king. These games between Nadal and Federer remind me of those great classics between Sampras & Agassi as well as Borg & McEnroe.

Interesting fact: the last Spanish champion in Wimbledon was Manolo Santana in 1966. The Spanish are having a great Year!

Bah, how long was the rain delay? I watched until then and up until
this thread, thought the match was still postponed. It was an incredible match!

Not a big tennis fan normally but "Murray-mania" (Andy Murray) was gripping the nation recently.

Watched all the final...what a match!

Federer was quite pissed. I would be to if I was going home to a tongue lashing from my girlfriend. Just kidding, it was a great match to watch - a lot of suspense. I'm nt glad with the result but I will admit Nadal did play a good game.

Best match I ever saw. Hard to believe that Federer is the "old man" at 26!

Incredible match ... and exactly, because I can guarantee Federer is not nearly "done" IMHO. :music:

I would sincerely hope so. I think he's got it in him to break Pete's record Slams.
On the flip side, (i think) Federer has not been himself in Wimbledon - he played many shots way too short and his angles were off as well. I wonder if Nadal is getting to him mentally.
Instead of playing his usual powerful game, he (Fed) was playing "safe" waiting for Nadal to commit. Sorta makes me wonder though as Nadal is known as Mr.Defense and latest after Paris, Federer should know that.
However, if Nadal has gotten under Federer's skin, then nothing is safe. Neither the US Open or any of the Slams following after.
Djokovic, even as 3rd is lightyears away from the big guns, leaving only Nadal and Federer to battle this one out.

...just my take on it...

^ Good points! :music:
We'll know for sure after Wimbledon next year ... if there has been a "changing of the guard", so to speak IMHO. The French is Nadal's, perhaps even (then) two Wimbledon's in a row ... I agree that Federer - even at 27 - likely could not rebound to #1 from those successive losses, at that time. :guilty:

He will proll'y beat Sampras' total slam number ... and that may be it, IMHO.
Still, it was a great match this year ... and I think, clearly, Nadal is a few steps ahead of all the rest! :music:
