Will need some PHP help

Hello I am creating a website for my girlfriend. I am a good designer in photoshop and can do the basics of HTML but we need to set up a system in which we can take credit card payment, paypal etc... Have a membership login and closed doors to non members.

What is the cost for this kind of service? What am I looking at?

it's a real "how long is a piece of string" question to be honest - you'll have to draw up exactly how you want the site to work to get a price on it.

if it's simply a paypal payment to complete a membership process, and without being a member, you can't see anything at all, i'd reckon not too much - i'd do it for a few hundred GBP i'd have thought, but I think you may find some of the eastern europeans or indian programmers on here would do it a lot cheaper.

Ok well basically i am going to host a lot of material. Images and video. I will have a couple of preview galleries but most of the material will be off limits and members only access.

the cost of living in the UK greatly exceeds that of India and most places in the world. Hence the average hourly rate is alot higher.

You miss the point completely, people in western europe cannot afford to charge so little for webdesign. It doesnt matter wether you're online or offline the cost of living is still the same.

That's my free script to handle PayPal (which can work with credit cards) payments and send the user their files or whatever you want them to be able to do. It doesn't have a members system, but you could find someone who could integrate it easily.
