Microsoft has registered two new domain names in .Net & .Us will They pay the BIN to own the DOT COM?

Merck registers new domain names relating to Bacterial Pneumonia, but again leave the non-hyphen and alternative domain names available - Will these be scooped up by a domain name investor or will Merck registered them in the coming days?
