.in domains have been increasing in value these days, the question is, will .in and .co.in domains become one of the frontrunners in the in ccTLD industry?

I believe in .in domains but this is not just about my opinion, what is yours, what do you think?

I live in India and I don't see it coming. Atleast not in 2008.

Or maybe I am just unaware as I am passing most of my time sitting here in front of my PC.

Why do you ask the question in that way: will .in rule the world in 2008 ;)? Equally you could ask, will .cn rule the world in 2008?

India is coming up indeed, but China is rising up very fast too.
but I believe .in will better than .cn, especially for people here who speak English, India are the larggest country/population on the earth speach English...while we think a .cn site, we will think Chinese site, and run by a China person or company, but while we think a .in, its Language is English, it may be india locally, it also can be a global, and running by a western people or company..

that's why .in is very IN ! let's goto IN...even I didn't have one IN, as someone pick up my Dream .in, and it destroy my interesting on .in, I envy that guy!! :'(

I'm a believer in .in despite the fact that I have never actually sold one yet. The story is just too good - huge population, rapidly increasing income, high tech powerhouse, english is a commonly spoken language and anyone can own a .in domain. I have a bunch of high quality 3 letter .in's and I'm convinced they will pay off.

I am a fan of dot.in

One reason for me to invest in dot.in is the visual effect, especially for
for merchandising purposes.
I guess .in will find global interest.

I think fly.in or internet.in
looks much better than fly.asia or internet.asia

only my opinion

.com and IDN's will be the stars of 2008 and I am a big India/.co.in/.in supporter.

India is definitely a buy/hold, made a few sales this year highest $4K plus for vdo.co.in and turned down many other offers including one in to $20K plus.

I noted some compared Indian extensions with .asia - that is a big no no in my opinion, a bigger bust than .eu .

I think .in will be big eventually, but I don't know about 2008. Only a very small percentage of Indians are internet users as of yet, and there is almost no broadband there.

I think when the times comes that 20% of the Indian population is online and maybe 2% have broadband, .in will be gold. Well I hope so anyway, as I have a ton of them. :)

It's a shame though!! Indians not knowing their own potential!! I think what we need is more indian developers and domainers.....!! And btw I am indian...

Not many individuals / companies have many (50+) developed .in sites , and the advertising rates are very low. If you have the money to pay renewal fees without any returns for 3-4 years, .in domains may be a good investment.

businessx.in is also good

Well the whole End-user thing, I still kinda doubt. I mean the big companies and these major websites here still are somethingINDIA.com . Most of the ppl here dont even know there is an .in domain extension. IMO .in will definitely take a few yes to become all famous.

Like the other day this client of mine wanted to register him a domain name and I asked if he wants name.in. He was like, "no no I want ppl to know we are from India so we will have nameIndia.com. The best part is they happen to an multi national company with name.com as their parent company's website.
