discuss Will AI agents eventually register and manage domains on their own?

Right now humans still register domains manually. But with AI agents getting more capable, it doesn't feel impossible that they could start doing this automatically.

Do you think we'll eventually see domains registered, renewed, and managed entirely by AI agents running services or startups?

Or do you think there are things domain registrars do that AI simply can’t replace?

AI can register domains right now. Do you mean it can also do the research and then register them, or just handle the registration? Because using APIs, registration is already doable.

That is not even AI , registration via APIs is available since at least 10 years ago .

AI could probably handle most domain tasks like registering, renewing, managing but humans will still be needed for disputes, branding, and tricky legal issues. Routine stuff, yes, nuance, not yet.

I don't register domains manually, registrars and registries are handling this for me.

Yep, and AI agents will then drop the crappy domains they regged, then automatically write the losses off on your taxes.

AI will enable people with good portfolios to have multiple projects going on at once. It could change many people from reseller to contents creator seamlessly. That is why I have domains in the first place, because if I want to do something in the future I have a domain to use.
