Why vote for a new President when you could vote for my backyard ??

Hey everyone. My wife ( :lala: ) and I entered a local contest to win a $30,000 backyard makeover. Voting has only been open for a couple of days, and other entries are already kicking our butts. If you've got a spare second, I'd really appreciate it if you could register (sorry!) and vote.

==========================

Here's what you can do to help:

Visit:
http://azstarnet.upickem.net/engine/Welcome.aspx?contestid=2112

Register (pretty easy signup, unless you despise captchas)

Click the VOTE tab.

Go to page 72

Scroll down to the 3rd entry from the bottom on the right, with public name JorgeANDHeather

Click vote and then scroll down and click the SAVE VOTE button.

================================================

That's it. You can vote once a day if you really, really want to help. And comments can increase our visibility as well.

I can't offer NP$ because that could be construed as buying votes (an election year no no). If you have any other ideas for getting people to vote, I'd appreciate it. I was thinking a YouTube video mixing random pictures of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and my backyard.

Thanks Name Pros!

Thanks! +Rep for the both of you.

I decided last night that since I couldn't give NP$ for votes, I could at least donate them all to charity. Since my wife is now 14 weeks pregnant, I thought March of Dimes would be appropriate.

Thanks again for the help!

No problem, wasn't expecting anything in return. Great cause March Of Dimes. Congrats on the new baby, at least coming soon. We will have a new NP member in a few years :D

Did this contest end, how did you do? No offense, your yard wasn't half as bad as some of those.

Voting ends Sat, Aug 23 2008 11:59 PM. About 2 days after voting started, they disabled showing how many votes you have, so it's going to be a surprise. We've asked family around the entire country to vote, hopefully we were able to get enough to at least be considered by the judges (who apparently have the final say). If not, it was still fun to enter. I agree, our yard isn't as bad as it could be. The only reason it's as "bad" as it is now is because I started too many projects at once. I'm about 75% done with tiling almost the entire house, and once I finish that, I'll get back to working on the backyard.

Thanks again.

-Jorge

Thanks for all who voted. Unfortunately, we did not win, but it sounds like the finalists were pretty deserving, so no hard feelings here.
