why these days people still want to exchange links? does every links to be good?

some people made a mistake to exchange links to every website no matter what's the website is all about. it's better to have relevant web site to exchange rather than exchange every links from every website.

but why people still want to exchange links even google announces "a less weight" on link exchange? well what's your thought?

Firstly: Less weight, but they still affect it...
Secondly: There are other search engines than Google.

I think you answered your own question. :p

IMO, Exchanging links is okay when you do it with relevant sites, otherwise it is bad....and it can help a lot in increasing your traffic thus choose wisely, exchange links only with sites that has the same niche as yours, in that way you'll both benefit from it...:)

I actually think sites like google would NOT index link directories, only because they are link directories, and because they don't have any other "real" content.

Agreed. I've submitted my site that only appeals to a very small niche to about 50 general web directories, and I haven't seen traffic do a thing. When I post my link on sites that fit the category of my site, I get more, better-targeted traffic. :tu:

In my opinion, directories are a waste of time; if you're interested in building links, exchange them with related sites. :imho:
