Why did the .info TLD just fail? Its being offered for pocket change now. What went wrong? Is it even worth having .info if it can be registered for a buck or so?

What smart person came out with the .info TLD?

I don't think the .info extension has failed. I read an article somewhere about an actor using it for his resume' domain name. hisname.com would've been too commercial sounding, and he liked how hisname.info looked and sounded. This is just one of the many uses of this extention, and I too believe that the low prices and slow activity are a result of the promotion.

Once I get regfee.info up and running, I will instantly make .info valuable again.

.INFO Has Failed ,they are Fighting Words
I own 70 .infos and Plan to buy more
I have .info's with excellent traffic

Great, means I get them for 15NP$

Throw a Small site on them and make money ,how much
Got a .info 2 weeks ago and I have made over $100 USD in Revenue already
So failed ,No way
What has failed is non Visionary people like yourself ,who can not see the Woods for the trees.
.com is NOT the only tld making money.
Limiting yourself to only .com is cutting your potential income stream in half or more
as far as Keyword search goes ,these days Google,Yahoo is just as likely to Index a .info at top ranking as a .com
If .info's were not relevant Google Wouldn't even consider a Pr1 for them
I have More PR3 .info's than PR3 .com's

Planning to buy several .tld's in the Next year
.com is very low on the list
.info is TOP
Do not look at the .info price and say trash
look at the Price and Say BARGAIN
Several .infos I purchased for $15 USD ,before my Registrar dropped the Price in March, have still paid for themselves.

This from someone with Web.com Domains !!! :?

WOOW , i think ,we, newbies, finally found somebody to learn something important from.
Please, please, please, would you tell us how exactly you made $100 out of 15NP ?????? What did you developed on it, where did you parked it, ect...That would become my handbook. :red:

That could be the case. In this instance, I don't think that it was one those disingenuous pranksters working out a Machiavelian plot aimed at serving their own self interest for monetary gain, which is sometimes the case. (I watched X Files, kast night). Kudos on having good title to attract a discussion, however.

I disagree with the KUDOS Grilla, it is a false title for a topic showing no knowledge of the industry. This person did not state their opinion, they stated something as a fact that is not a fact firstly, and secondly is purely subjective to each persons business.

Personally, I have over 140 .info domains. In the next few months I will be torn over how many I should drop and how many I will keep. I would like to get rid of most of them but something tells me I should carefully study each domain and spend more money than I would like in renewal fees :)
This is exactly true for anyone that owns .INFO names. I'm in that position as well, but with only around 80-90 names.

Also, what I haven't read in this thread is the statement that I hear quite a bit regarding the "game" - DEVELOPMENT, DEVELOPMENT, DEVELOPMENT. Getting indexed, proper SEO, advertising, etc... will propogate any name regardless of the extension. Personally, I see .INFO as a more widely used tld in the general public because of the desire for "information" on the web which leads to greater develpoment potential. .CC, .BZ etc... doesn't seem to fit a purpose as easily as the info extension.

I think everyone should push those stinkin'/useless .info names over to me - especially you Binfus! ;) B-)

My thoughts exactly ,that is why I am buyng cheap .info's
I have stated in another Thread almost the same sentiments
Type into Google or (Insert search engine of choice)
any Keyword phrase and Most on the First page
Could just as likely be references to the Keywords in
the Text or the Name of a subdirectory/Subdomain
not the Keywords.com
Plus I often get type-in traffic for Keyword.info
