Whois record update

was after a quick bit of help re the above thanks if anyone know much about whois records? i am trying to upload a domain name to sell on Flippa and they need me to verify ownership before they can list it. only trouble is that privacy protection seems to be on the whois record for that name (i picked it up at namejet so must have been done when they reg'd it for me) so the email verification they sent has gone to a generic address there i can't access.

if i log in to my account with the registrar can i update the whois settings there to take the privacy off which will hopefully mean Flippa can resend the verification email to my proper address to access? thanks for any help.

I believe this is exactly what you need to do! You access your domain through your registrar and that is where you make changes to it (changing administrative details, pointing nameservers, unlocking, getting EPP code). You should have a pretty clear option in the account that you have a privacy protection and the button to remove it. Afterwards make sure your admin contacts are your own and simply resubmit your request with Flippa. The new email should arrive at just the right place.
