What kind of sponsors support hate?

Reading Domaining.com this morning I came across a very, very disturbing tweet that was sent to a blogger.

As one who has lost their mother early and also have a family member victimized by rape, I am extremely uneasy about this.

Why in the world does anyone sponsor someone that would do that?

There's no place for this in any industry.

You can catch up on it here:

That tweet by Kevin Murphy is highly offensive. Not being willing to admit an obvious mistake is almost as offensive.

I lost a lot of respect for him.

I hate that kind of people since they have weak personality and shoot garbage without taking in consideration consequence of their acts, words etc.

He had to make an answer to him directly and do not attack his family members, since he knows nothing about them and where they are, and even if he do, he have no right to do that ... it is clear that he didn't like the tweet ... he had to contact him via DM to remove it or find a common ground.

    It is my own opinion.

One of the greatest attributes is the ability to recognize when your wrong and taking responsibility, such as an apology....By doing neither he double downed instead. Sickening!

lol not laughing at the joke as it is not funny. I'm laughing because this is the same guy I contacted to see if we could partner up or we could follow each other on Twitter or Linkedin or bid on my domain auctions and all I got was a simple "F*ck You". I think I mentioned it here before years back. It took me aback for sure. Made me see this industry is full of characters.

I just checked. This "guy" is actually on Namepros?

Anyways. As I go thru life. I come across many types of people. maybe I'm too easy going. Or maybe my father was an "a**hole" so I let many such types slide unless they cross the line like this.

I get the same kind of dialogue in an irish bar or italian bar in Brooklyn.

I don't know. sometimes it's said in a mean spirited way while most times it an off hand remark.

all I can say is much better men have been found in a dumpster or the city dump or in the east river with no pulse.

I chalk this up as "online bravery"

Edit: question....the title says "who would Sponsor".

in this case. I'm slow lol who is or are the sponsors here? Are you talking about the sponsors for Domaining.com? or those who Sponsor the website of the offensive person?

from the looks of it here's a list just based on the main page of their website.

No I don't mean the Domaining.com sponsors. I was referring to the blogger that sent the Tweet thinking rape is funny.

Sponsors should answer as to why they support this type of behavior.

Being sponsored is a privilege. When sponsored you are effectively a representative of the organization. Let's see what sponsors support this behavior.

    Agreed. Well said!

Though not explicitly mentioned by name, one could infer you were reviewing @DomainIncite

I suppose someone could make that argument, but I am not "reviewing" anyone or anything. I am not reviewing a product or service.

I am specifically calling out unacceptable behavior. Thats not a review.

    I agree.

I think this belongs under general discussion or even domain industry news, after all this involves (2) prominent members of the domain industry. Just burying this kind of thing in "reviews" is not right.

lol There is also DomainIncel.com :-P

I think based on the Tweet. It's appropriate.

    incel
aka "involuntarily celibate", a person (usually male) who has a horrible personality and treats women like sexual objects and thinks his lack of a sex life comes from being "ugly" when its really just his blatant sexism and terrible attitude. incels have little to no self awareness; even when they see other "ugly" men with girlfriends, they consider these men to be tricksters who have somehow beat the system and can get women despite being cursed with unattractiveness (in other words, theyre respectful to women and women are attracted to their personalities, but incels cant comprehend such a phenomenon). they believe that women owe them sex, and many of the more extreme incels like to spend time in incel communities on the internet coming up with ways to make women have sex with them (often involving genocide of people of color, genocide of "Chads" (men who have sex), taking rights away from women, raping them, having sex with women's dead bodies, and other horrid, disgusting things. they cant understand that that is PRECISELY why women want nothing to do with them).

    Incel
Incels (/ˈɪnsɛlz/ IN-selz), a portmanteau of "involuntary celibates", are members of an online subculture who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one.[1][2][3] Discussions in incel forums are often characterized by resentment, misogyny, misanthropy, self-pity and self-loathing, racism, a sense of entitlement to sex, and the endorsement of violence against sexually active people.[14] The American nonprofit Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) described the subculture as "part of the online male supremacist ecosystem" that is included in their list of hate groups.[15][16] Incels are mostly male and heterosexual.[10][12][17] Many sources report that incels are predominantly white.[18][19][20] Estimates of the overall size of the subculture vary greatly, ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands.

At least six mass murders, resulting in a total of 44 deaths, have been committed since 2014 by men who have either self-identified as incels or who had mentioned incel-related names and writings in their private writings or Internet postings. Incel communities have been criticized by the media and researchers for being misogynistic, encouraging violence, spreading extremist views, and radicalizing their members.[2][23][24][20] Beginning in 2018, the incel ideology has increasingly been described as a terrorism threat, and a February 2020 attack in Toronto, Canada became the first instance of allegedly incel-related violence to be prosecuted as an act of terrorism.

Do you expect answers every time you snap your fingers? 🤞

If that post didn't break a forum rule, your post would still remain.
Mods might be driving some folks out of here. But if you ask me, I think mods should have drove some folks out of here quicker. Unfortunately mods don't have much control on who decides to be active, and who decides to close their account. As other members are the primary catalyst for other members maintaining their account. Afterall this is a peer-based community.

And if you recall some of the reasons of why some the more prominent members had left, you might be reminded that some were sick of the epik/far right content that had been festering since at least gab/christchurch threads.

So while what Kevin said was clearly wrong and an apology is long overdue, I think @DomainIncite has written some great articles over the years, that shouldn't be dismissed, discredited, or overlooked.

    http://domainincite.com/24077-after-nz-shooting-epik-has-a-monster-pr-problem

Seeing the reaction from some surrounding this incident, and the lack of reaction from those on other issues, almost makes it seem some folks are OK with racism, but not OK with rape?

To clarify, both racism and rape are wrong.

    Does anybody disagree?

Then comes the comedy aspect. And an evolved society, is it sill comedy, or a form of abuse, or normalized oppression?

Rape/Racist jokes have a long history of existence. Cancel culture is trying to make people aware of the trickle effects these type of jokes can have on some people. And I don't say cancel culture in a negative light, because there are certainly things in this current society that would have been better, or are better off, if cancelled.

We are living in new times. Some people are evolving. Others remain bigots.

I'm trying to evolve. Curious to hear how everybody else is handling things?
