.info Who says .info is worthless ???

Good day everyone,

I have gotten a couple of PM's and "reputation" remarks stating "Why would I pay for .info when I can get them free." My answer is that if you would have gotten creditcards.com for free, does that make it any more or less valuable? It would still be worth 2.75 million to someone (as per previous sale).

Just because you get a name inexpensively does not make it worthless.. it is the actual name that gives it it's value no matter how much you paid for it.

I am by no means a "big player" This is sort of a hobby for me.

Below is my last years account of .info's. The format does not come out very well on message board, but you get the idea. All red items have been sold. All lines in black are still mine (and paid for).

All items in parenthesis are my collected amounts minus paypal fees. So a name that I sold for $500.00 will show $480.20.

So I say... Give me all the free info's you want, and I'll deal with the value :D

wow 3 leter domains are sold at a cheeeaap price. I woul d have given u 10$ more than that for some of the 3 letter domains .
The person whom you have sold all those 3 letters is really luckyyyy.

Seo.info sold for more than 1000$
and most of the 3 letter .infos sell for 500$ - 800$ (((

Just re-reading the list of sold domains.. I can't believe actionfigures.info only brought $33! That one should do insanely well as it's one of the most popular collectible areas.

Several others also sold at extremely undervalued prices, IMO.

I agree with you... many names I let go very cheap. Please also realize that at the time I was registering 20 names a day and my funds are limited. So my thinking at the time was try to get between 5-10 X's what I paid per name so I could register more.

Also let me explain my accounting is not perfect... if i sold 4 names to someone at 100 - 60 - 20 - 20 ... Total payment would be 200 - paypal fees (approx 7) = 193 and for simplicities sake sometimes I may just divide that by 4 and enter (48.25) per name.

Yes, I regrets many of the 3-letter sales.

Since the buyers seems another domain investor, is it safe to assume that the .info value are much higher at end-user?

Sure, but it still depends on the name itself. Just look at DNJournal.com to some of the largest .info enduser sales. Patience is a big factor in the domain business (which is not my strong suit).

Great thread Strictly I agree with you 100 % Right now in .info you have to hit singles mabe eventually yank one out of the park but 3,000 singels gets you in the Hall of fame. ANd Binfus $18,000 On five names wow. I picked up nonprofitjobs and housing programs on a drop for free last night.
