I am curious on which of the 2 domain names would be worth more money by itself or generate more revenue if parked.

Here are my examples...

DVD Player or DVD Players?
(for example, in the .com extensions)

In this case "DVD Player has [201,000] exact search phrases per month and DVD Players has [14,100] exact search phrases per month. Both estimates are provided by Google Keyword Tool.

However, if I type in DVD Players rather than DVD Player in Google, I see more ads for DVD Players rather than DVD Player and the average CPC is also higher.

Please let me know, I am considering acquiring a particular Domain Name that is in the similar situation and would like to make the smart choice. I plan on parking the Domain Name and then eventually developing it.

Thanks!

Parking relies on type-in (direct traffic), and there is no straight correlation between search volume and actual traffic. If the search volume is very high a bit of type-in might be expected, but may not be enough to make it worthwhile.

You will probably have more luck with expired domains with backlinks.

I think it is faily universal that the stats will typically favor the singular version over the plural. I recommend you do a search as I think that there are some older threads that cover this topic in great detail. In your example above, if I were goimg to build a business on one of those names, I would much prefer the plural because it just sounds better and I feel like I could rank well for both in the search engines.

The best answer is to own both and redirect one to the other.

It's a tossup as to which example given would sell for more at auction. The singular would probably earn more parked based on global monthly search volume exact match with extension:
[dvdplayer.com] = 22
[dvdplayers.com] = <10

PS - if the example names are close to home, technology obsolescence may be a bigger hazard to your wallet than he dangling 's'.

If you are looking to buy a dvdplayer you are more likely to search for dvdplayer rather than dvdplayers because you are not looking to buy multiple players. This is why the search volume is always (well mostly) higher for the singular version. If you are selling multiple dvdplayers you might prefer to have the plural (or both and redirect the singular to the plural) because the plural is more relevant to your business model.

Plurals always plurals
