Which DN registrar launches first during the LandRush period

Is there a specific WINNER registrar/registrars which, launches DN registration during the landrush period. I am anxious to find it out.

For eg, who brought out

->.mobi,

-> .in,

-> .us,

-> .eu

As this threads builds on, more questions based on it will be added simultaneously.

The only one of these landrushes I particpated in was the .US.

I don't recall if any specific registrars scored better than others. I thought the registries usually use some type of round robin system to ensure the pre-ordered domains are divided equally among all the registrars participating. But regardless of past launch performances of the registrars, it's not really helpful for future TLD launches because each TLD is run differently by its respective registry.

So this brings me to the conclusion that once a certain domain extension is launched, it will be available with all accredited registrars and not neccessarily any specific registrar.

I think it depends on the methodology used to hand out the landrush names. I don't think any two have been totally identical. In a round robin case, it might be better to use an obscure registrar since they would have fewer people trying for a particular name. It might be even better to try ALL registrars for a particular name to up your odds. I've only participated in the .us, .info, and .biz, but can't say any registrar was better than another.

You mean like send them emails and ask them when they will release them for the public registration?

Go to ICANN's list of registrars or to the TLD registry for their list of registrars.

No, sign up for landrush auctions or preregistrations at registrars that offer them. Pool caught some names in the last couple landrush tries some people.

It's probably best to ask these specific questions when the next landrush is closer to happening. Every one has been run differently.

The .ASIA launch will occur in 2007. No details are available yet though.

I, sadly enough have not been invovlved in any landrushes yet in my domaining life. However i plan on doing so in the next TLD release.

I got an email from one of the staff , that the trademark registration will be during June/July 2007 and general registrations later. The dates are still tentative.

During the trademark registration, will the public be able to register the domains also ?

The .ASIA launch will occur in 2007. No details are available yet though.

During trademark registration period, only trademark holders can reserve domains.

Pool seemed to be a big winner with the .mobi landrush, registering hundreds if not thousands of short combinations under "Pool In Trust"
