No friend article submission.

You need article submissions in order to get backlinks from articles sites.

Are backlinks getting from article submition better than baclinks getting from submition to derictories?

That is another thing. It depends on the site linking to you.

Ok. Imagine situation. I have two sites. They have the same subject-matter. They get links from the same sites (sites are relevant). But first one gets backlinks via submition links to derictories and the second one gets baclinks via article submitions on the same site. Which site will get best SEO results?

You have site A and site B

Site A gets links from relevant directories.
Site B gets links from relevant Article sites.

If Site A gets a link from DMOZ which is a directory.
If Site B gets a link from EzineArticles which is an article directory.

Imagine yourself which will be better.

This is just an example. This can be vice-versa also. Sometimes the article can give better boost compared to the directory.

When you imagine two sites with same thing linking back to your two sites there are many other factors like total outgoing links on that particular page from which you are getting a link and so on.

Can other people take articles from Article directories and publish on their sites? If so, do they have to retain the link to my site or to the directory?

Isnare.com is useless as they want you to pay to submit your article with a link in your bio.

Yes friend. Some article directories allow Links in the article. And some allow in Author's resource box.

But you definately get a backlink for your site.
