question Where to start looking for a developer partner

Question is simple, but doubt the answer will be.

How would members suggest going about looking for a website developer to partner with for the development of a website?

I have the domain name www.Fig.ht, having received numerous (but low) offers over the years (including a $49 offer from a member here - LOL) I have always kept the domain, and health permitting have decided to look for a developer to partner with so as to create a fully functional site for the long term.

Now considering the domain name I am thinking along the lines for development as a UFC/MMA site, possibly with other forms of combative sport as well. The problem being I have no real interest in such sports.

Any ideas on any company who might be both suitable and willing to partner up with?

If you are looking for a developer to develop a site as a partner for profits, good luck. You will be hard-pressed to find such a developer on freelancing sites. Developers are not usually interested in anything but getting paid for their work. Now if you have a domain like shoes//com, that might be more realistic. But for the most part, forget about that.

But you ***might*** find a domainer who is also a good developer to take you up on such an offer. However, again, you have to have a domain they see as a good potential.

But designing a site is only 20% of the battle. Who is going to do the extremely time-consuming task of off-site, whitehat SEO for free in hopes of a profit to share? SEO (whether blackhat or whitehat) is an ongoing task. It never ends.

Have you done any DD to check and see if "World Media Group" has gone after any "fight" sites? If not I would strongly suggest that's the 1st thing you should do.

I dont thing world media group would like someone registering and using fig-ht.com and Fig.ht is very similar to it

Your fight won't be the same fight if you develop. eg you build a site about MMA and your buyer wants to use it for women's rights. Just make a sale and get next idea.
