I have been looking for hours, but where is the source of the recently going to drop list? I would like to get a list of domains that are about to expire. *but* justdropped.com, snapnames.com, dropshark, and the rest like this I think get it from a upstream source. I would like to know where I could go on the website to find lists like this. Is there a webpage on ICANN or Verisign that has the list of domains about to drop?

.US domains.US domains
it depends on the extention im pretty sure with .biz that info can be obtained from their web site most others you have to fill out forms to gain access to their database you then need to write code to go through it all

Jakomo: Where do you get your lists from? What is your upstream source? Your site in your signature is not what I am looking for, but the lists you use is.

For instance just dropped offers a 24 hour advance access to a drop list before domains are dropped (for a few bucks). They publish for free domains that dropped that day.

http://www.justdropped.com/drops/index.html

This site does the same, but there lists are two days old.

The reason I would like to get access is because I am doing research and need the information to publish my report. (not paid research) but I hope once I publish the report on domains life cycle after it drops it could maybe help others understand.

and if I could track and monitor and record a list of domains that are going to drop in 5 days up till 30 days after the drop. That would give me enough advanced drop data for the report. I would like to monitor a few weeks worth of dropped domains back to back to compare the data from one group to another group. See what the action on domains dropped on Sat vs Mon, etc. More data. Whom picks up the most domains. How long does snapnames, pool, tdnam, club drop, and other registars hold the domains for auction until they let them drop again. After they have dropped again, how many domain tasters pick them up and drop them or pick them up and keep them. Stuff like the above that will give some insight on what is going on now a days.

You are looking for zone file access. This is the data source for dropping domains. The data is free, however you must register:
http://www.verisign.com/information-services/naming-services/com-net-registry/page_001052.html

You will then need a script to compare the zone files to build your list of expiring domains.

The script isn't hard at all, It's ~a dozen lines of Shell code. IIRC (I coded it up in an afternoon for one of my clients).

For those that don't have shell or don't know what the zone structure looks like. Thanks for the link. I rep'd for it. Now to figure out what it takes to get accepted. :)
