Where to get started?

Ok so I 've played around with Frontpage, and desgined my site, www.e-emotorsports.com, then I had a freind help me out and do my header and footer in php to add to my html files and save them as a php so my site would turn out like it has. But I would like to reod it again, and make it more brighter, and add more pics. I can do Frontpage, but I am looking for sometinge to where I can have a header, left and right sidebars, and a footer to where I can change it and it applies to all of the pages, not just the one I am currently doing. Anyone have any reccomendations on a web design software that might help? Or any ideas I could try? I am not completely web design illiterate and I can figure things out pretty quick.

well you could create the left.txt right.txt header.txt and footer.txt pages and add them to the php page after which changing one will change it in all pages
If you need dynamic heder, footer etc try creating left.tpl right.tpl header.tpl and footer.tpl (more difficult to intergrate into php)

Dont use Frontpage, thats a good start
Because it can often add unwanted code.

use Dreamweaver to design the site.

As for common headers etc, search for "php includes" - they are exactly what you need
