Hello, I want to transfer all my domains from others registrars to other registrar, which one (or 2) you guys recommand me? I own mostly .com and .in domains, I need one that is well secured and have renewals as cheap as possible.
I readed that 1and1 and GoDaddy are not recommanded, I tried to look for a solution but I saw only non-recommandations.

Thank you!

From what I have learned from this thread...

I think I will move all my domains to NameSilo.. (the long keepers)

And in January move again to Namecheap for $3.98 each, plus adding an extra year.

OMG, I'm so done with 1and1, in their dashboard you can't see even domain expiry date for all of your domains, also bulk editing not possible, BAD security, VEEERY slow running website...will be total nightmare to transfer domains out, but at least I got each domain for $1 :D

I recommend Dynadot or Uniregistry.

If you are a newbie and like private reg use namesilo

If you like to buy and sell domains use Godaddy hands down.

namesilo also has an api something that might be useful as well as dynadot ( I have a few domains with them all bought via api's)

My vote is Uniregistry, the privacy is free and you can turn it on and off. They have a domain tracker so you can track domains you don't own, and ones you do. If you email them they will beat Godaddy's prices. And last but not least they answer their phone within 5 minutes and very knowledgeable and helpful.

I use GoDaddy :) Seriously if you or anyone on here would like to use GoDaddy and are concerned about price or privacy costs pm me and I will see what I can do. We are pretty competitive in pricing and have deals for large portfolio holders which are not the same as our advertised pricing.

Do these deals offer better pricing than DDC prices?

With deference to my dear friend Joe Styler (who should be working for Uniregistry) and taking my sales hat firmly off and putting my honesty and domainer hat on here: if you are a serious domainer there is no-where .. And I mean nowhere, you should be other than Uniregistry. The tools the infrastructure and the open-ness of the platform are unlike anything else at any other registrar. The investments we're making in product and the passion of the people to serve our customers border on healthy obsession. Nobody is "leading" on the sales front like Uniregistry and in 5 years most domainers will be using our products to buy and sell domain names. Our competes are public companies and will never bend in ways Uniregistry can.

Schilling operates his business Uniregistry from servers that are located on boats located in international waters off the coast of the Cayman Islands. This way he avoids paying high corporate taxes. When his boat goes down in 5 years so will your portfolio, that is why he wears shades. Stay away from that....

I think any company that goes out of their way to avoid paying taxes is not pulling their own weight. Why should I and every Joe Blow in America have to file their taxes, and even pay high self-employment taxes (like I do) when corporations can easily take advantage of these loopholes. I blame Congress mainly for not addressing important issues in a moral light, but also the companies that take advantage of obvious loopholes deserve blame as well. Sucks that it seems the loopholes will never get fixed, and every self-employed or small business owner has to pull the weight of this big country, while big companies and the rich get a first class ticket to not-paying-taxes-ville. By the way, not sure if what you state about Uniregistry is true or not. But I absolutely deplore any business that does off-shoring to avoid taxes, and as such I will avoid giving my business to them. Don't care if it's a common practice in the corporate world. If I find out a company is doing that then I will immediately stop all business transactions with them in favor of a more ethical company.

I have also registered my domain name and hosting from Godaddy and my experience with Godaddy was not at all good. Most of the times their server goes down and there is no good customer support system. Afterwards I transferred my hosting services from Godaddy to Bigrock. Bigrock customer service is excellent.
