Where is Yahoo ?

My sites get crawled by both Googlebot and MSNBot but i havent seen a "Yahoo bot" or anything like that but there is this "Inktomi Slurp" i think i saw somewhere that now Inktomi is owned by yahoo so thats Yahoobot ? I get traffic from both Google and MSN but awstats shows nothing from Yahoo.

It's MSN that is powered by Inktomi, read about it here .

Ops yes , my bad its MSN. So there are both MSN bot and Inktomi Slurp but no yahoo. Do you guys see a yahoo bot in awstats ?

Nope, I see this for the robots on one of my new sites for robots/spiders:

Then I see this under connect to site from:

Links from an Internet Search Engine - Full list
- Google 6 6
- Yahoo 6 6

So no indication of a "Yahoo" robot, but they have links to my site so they must be the "Inkotomi Slurp"

Yes I can see yahoo bot yahoo china bot and other yahoo bots in my awstats.

Submit site to addme.com (but tick OFF yahoo/msn/google).

That speeds up indexing to the big 3 as I've always witnessed in the past.

Not debating but I think some High PR backlinks would do much better in this case. Submitting the site will place the site in the que for crawling but to get it indexed faster I think few good and relevant backlinks will help more.

The very first thing is please check your robots.txt

Sometimes the default robots.txt has some default parameters and who knows they don't even allow some of the bots to crawl the site.

If the robots.txt is fine then I think you need some good backlinks. within somedays it will get your site crawled and indexed in the search engine.

type in google submit + url + yahoo, it will show you the link to yahoo submition, it always works for me, the yahoo bot is visiting my sites regularly

Finally Yahoo bot seems coming to my sites. I can see the stats of yahoo bot in awstats now. Maybe Yaho bot d read this post.
