Great info for all folks. I did hear some where that if you sell a name through TDNam, they hold your money for 30 days or something like that. Any truth to that? Has anyone had any sales through Moniker other than the TRAFFIC auctions. We seem to have hit all the big players, does anyone list with some smaller operators (if there's any left).

Hi,

Yes it is true - 31 days.

They hold the Seller's money for 31 days even if the buyer
received the domain the first day.

GoDaddy is not licensed as an Escrow service and does not want
to go thru all the red tape and expense dealing with the laws of each State.

Their idea is by holding your money for a predetermined amount of time
and then releasing it if no problems pop up then they would not be operating as an escrow service.

If they released the Seller's funds once the domain is transferred
to the buyer then they would be paying the seller based on action
performed and this would be considered an escrow service.

Anyway this is my understanding from a conversation with one of their
Vice Presidents.

My sale concluded on the 31st day.

The next day payment was made to my PayPal account. GoDaddy does
batch payments which is nice as PayPal does not take any fees from the proceeds.
