Where can I get a Forum

hey i need a Forum for a differnt topic. im looking for a good quality forum that allows me to put ads on the site and looks clean. i will give 25 NP to the person who refers me to the best place to get a Forum.

Try Aimoo.com, you can put up your own ads and they have their own ads as well, but I didn't mind it. You also get ranked well in search engines it seems

Well I can help you set up a forum. The best forum software to use is Vbulettin or IPB both require licenses. PHPbb is freeware and can be easily installed on a linux server. The best thing to do if you want to start a forum is to buy a domain name, get a host and use phpbb since it is free. If you need help send over a PM. I recommend you set up your own and not use a free service remotely hosted.

Free, shallow learning curve, easy to skin (edit css files) and did I say free.

This is my suggestion as well, highly customizable.

Though, that only works if you have a certain Fantastico package.

Don't use fantastico to install PHPBB because usually they are not updated as well as your forum can easily be hacked. My suggestion, download the latest version from http://www.phpbb.com/.

Depends on which fantastico you're using as to whether or not phpBB is up-to-date.
I should point out that most fantastico's now offer SMF as well, meaning your install takes a whopping 20 seconds. SMF seems to be much more search-engine friendly, and certainly a lot more admin-flavored.
