Seriosly, I don't think it would be a rush - most catchy pronouncable names would be taken.

In my opinion it won't be the same as it is with .com

Even in .com many LLLL are not worth that much.
Grabbing LLLL in lesser extensions does not sound like the best investment.

Horrible or expensive. That seems to be how it is with .tv. You either pay big to get a quality name or spend a few bucks on crap.

I agree with Makis here.

I'm sure there will be a lot purchased but as for a buyout similar to .com - very doubtful.


If you are going to buy any LLLL.tv's at all based on pure speculation because they sound cool...cvcv, vcvc, etc... invest in what you can afford to lose.

Having said that, I myself have a few that I really like, I think I hold less than 10 right now but for me they are long term holds and I am not in any rush at all.

One thing I do when I am buying my random LLL's and LLLL's is make sure they CAN mean something.

Here is an example, I picked up iVOD.tv It means absolutely nothing to anyone because it is not an actual word but I see it as a $xx,xxx potential domain to the right end user one day... VOD stands for Videos On Demand and well "i" of course is the best letter you can have in front of that. Would I put that in an appraisal thread here, absolutely not because I dont care what anyone else sees in that domain. I like it and am willing to make the sacrifice of spending a few buks on it that I am willing to lose, just in case. Actually I am positive that if i sold any of mine right now since I got them for such a decent price, I would not lose any $ at all.

So, I guess what I am saying is have at least somewhat of a plan, and dont be afraid if anyone doesnt see the same value, everyone here does not see the same value at all. Just dont expect to sell them in a week from now here for $xxx. It is possible, but not probable.

Never, that is a .com thing and means nothing in .tv. Again IMO

...I like the few that I have (wino & bluz for example) but the flood of newer extensions brings more competition, making the dot com still a king of sorts, but a much more humble one than when it was the monolith of the 20th century.

Although I do see progress in .tv, it will never be the showcase product in sedo's parking lot. The need to develop is paramount, something the .com never had to worry about in days of old.

People are getting desperate with some of these threads. Stick with high quality names if you must invest, I don't think anybody has ever made money with low quality stuff in .tv.

never's a very long time. however i agree it will be a long time if ever. its possible that domain names wont even be useful objects anymore before it happens. and that particular event horizon may be a lot closer than any domainer cares to realize...
