Hello,

I hand regged a name that I think it dropped and I picked it up right away because whenever I check domain age checker it always show the age of the name at over 10 years old.

Domain age counts from date of most recent registration. Another words: YES, it resets to zero after domain drops, no matter how quickly you catch it again.

I guess I'm confusing domain age with creation date? Because I just did a whois and it says date created ( day I registered ) and when I did a domain age check it shows the age.

Once a domain drops and becomes available to register, the whois is emptied and contains no current record.

If you register this domain again it will show a creation date and time at the precise moment at which you registered it, so its age gets reset to this time.

Always look at the most updated whois records to work out its age, don't know where you are doing your 'domain age check' but I would this regard this if you want the truth.

I know what it's happening now about the domain age. Some domain age checkers check the wayback machine to see how long the name was active it explains why it's saying the age is 10 years.

Domain was first registered on: 2016-10-08
Domain was first found by the Wayback Machine on: Mon Apr 10 06:19:10 UTC 2006
