When Do You Know?

How long does it take to know if you caught a domain or not?

I had a snap on a name and I have been monitoring it on NameWinner as well. The name was Pending Delete and last updated on 6-06-2003. I know that would make it expire on the 12th (yesterday at 1 PM central) but I have yet to receive word from SnapNames and I am not seeing Pending at NW. In fact, the snap appears to still be in place.

I have not used a snap in a while and even then I did not follow it too closely.

Does this mean some other service caught it or is it just a case of not settling yet?

Ok, now I know. Buy Domains beat both the Snap and NW for cyberhosting.net.

FYI: SnapNames will send an email within two hours of a successful acquisition

Thanks Dr. Who - I never was aware of that, and it drives me totally nuts waiting for the Whois to update.

Mind you, Snapnames has done absolutely nothing for me in weeks they seem to be getting beaten by everyone

Snap has been beaten by "Buy Domains" on 100% of my snaps. Needless to say I will not be renewing them.

Snapnames CAN take mush over 2 hours.

And if you are that worried. Go to all of the snapnames registrars and all the NW and BD registrars and ULTs registrars and check the whois there. That will tell you almost instantly who got it.
