When are the .everythings actually on sale?

Does anyone know what date they are actually going on sale? I wanted to buy a .nyc in particular. What date can we try to buy one, or has the pre-registration already happened?

The first groups of top-level domains ("first round") are anticipated to be available in early 2014. Since January 12, 2012 until April 12, 2012, ICANN has been accepting applications for new gTLDS. Depending on the type of application and the level of opposition or controversy, it will take approximately 8-18 months for ICANN to evaluate the applications.
