Sedo will email you to say a "Credit Note has been created" After the domain has Successfully transferred to the new owner, Domains can sometimes be transferred to a simple Sedo holding account If the buyer has paid Sedo Escrow service but, as yet, Not set-up a Domain Registration service in their own name. It doesn't make any difference in the release of funds to the domain seller, this usually takes 24-48 hours after you receive the "Credit note raised" email. Always allow an additional 48 hours if a transaction processes just prior to the weekend, Sedo do not operate at weekends.

If your in doubt about any timescales Use the email link from your sellers control panel to speak/message your Sedo transfer agent direct

I usually push the domain to Sedo's account at Dynadot (most names being held there) and the credit note follows shortly, then payment while they coordinate with the buyer. But it depends on the registrar of the domain. Dynadot doesn't apply silly locks like GD for example.

With some ccTLDs, there will be no push, instead you will provide an EPP code for the buyer who will initiate transfer from the registrar of their choice.
So again it depends on the current registrar, the TLD involved and possibly specific instructions from buyer - for example they may refuse a push at the current registrar, but insist on a transfer out instead.
It's not always 100% predictable.

Let me share my personal experience. I sold a domain recently there and it was my first at sedo.

The sale was on 18 Oct and I receive email to update the AUTH code which i promptly did. Then transfer completd a couple days later and I got paid on 24 Oct.

Hope that helps. Cheers!

Yes, I agree Shaun & kate. There's lots of knockers of Sedo and some of their service performance levels can be frustrating at times. The old sales template and intricacies' of finding your way around their domain management panels doesn't help their cause. But that said, It's also reassuring that once a sale is confirmed you have an 'assigned' personal transaction manager who pretty much stays on the case until everything is completed. I Guess by limiting their operation to the 5 day working week everything happens within Sedos timeframe without you having to worry if your assigned Rep is available or not.

Those that really Knock them seem mostly those that are unfamiliar with their commission system. they are NOT in the business for small sales of say less than $500 and you shouldn't go near them if under 500 is your market
