Ok, so this is how my day started...today is the 5th anniversary of my fathers death. So my mom and I go up to the cemetery for our coffee ritual with my dad. As we are walking across the cemetery we notice the ground in front of my fathers plot has been disturbed, and quite visible from where we were. As we get closer we notice there is a fresh grave (cremation plot) in front of my dad's with a name of a man who just died. Now, my sister owns the plot next to my dad, and I own the one in front of my dad....the one where there is someone else's cremains!
So I just happenend to still have the paperwork in my purse for the plot purchase, so off I go to the Municipal Hall building in Summerland. Needless to say, I am beside myself.....and very very upset!
I get into the office and the woman shows me the chart which of course doesn't have my info - it shows as an empty spot! (I have owned the plot for 4 years)
So, she takes my receipt, upon searching the computer comes back with " We are extremely sorry for what has happened, and I don't know what to tell you but it turns out my info is in the computer, but never relayed to the burial maps!!!..." Which means, they made a mistake - a big one! So, now what?
Some guy, is in my plot! So they have assured me they will move him today!!!
Should I believe it?...Should I dig up the plot myself to see if they actually moved him or just his name tag?...OMG I am beside myself with anger, and frustration...I feel like I have been violated or something...
My thoughts are of the family of the man they buried there as well...how do you tell a family we buried someone in the wrong spot, so we're going to move him!!
I am patiently awaiting a call from the city's clerk to let me know it's done - but how do you deal with this?
I feel sick! How can a mistake like this be done - for 4 years that info wasn't in the system? Makes you wonder what else has been done and not found out! :yell:

That's not right. I wouldn't be very so happy either, hope it gets removed soon.
