Hello,

I agreed to sell one of my domains for xxx and a member of one of my boards is telling me not to sell it. He likes it alot.

I spoke to the buyer via email and 1 phone call and everything is arrange for the sale in person since he lives in the same state as I do.

Would you back down from the sale?

Tell the member of the board since he likes it so much to buy it for x,xxx

It really all depends on you. Are you happy with xxx? Were you planning on doing/have you done anything with the name (developed etc) ? Could you live with yourself afterwards? Do you need xxx? Can you hold on to it for awhile? Should you?

So many questions, and the only answer lies with you.

but since you did already agree... I think the honorable thing would be to go through with the sale. You just made xxx dollars out of x dollars. Can't go wrong.

Personally I would never back out of a sale if I had agreed to the price, the same goes for if I had offered to buy domain for a price.

In my opinion once both parties have agreed then that is the deal dona.

All the best.

Check out premium's thread (The "stolen domain" thread with 10 pages of replies...).
I think you'd get a pretty clear picture about how we view those who back out of sales that they have agreed to.

well dont go to with the member on your board ... unless he's willing to pay more ... first of all its not right from backing down of an offer ... so i would suggest go for xxx

I agree, sell it to the person you previously agreed to.
Remember that money shouldn't buy a man's word! :)

sell to the original buyer at the agreed price IMO - how would you feel if someone did that to you ?

Heh, you could offer to split the larger amount with the first buyer..... you both win, if he wants to sell instead of buy. Otherwise, sell to him, it's the only honorable thing to do.

Thanks Everyone!

When i first put the domain here for sale! I remember after 1 hour of being posted I pulled it back. Because i was too attached to the domain name I liked it so much but if I am going to try and make something out of this business i can't get too attached to this domain or any other domain name.

The money amount isn't a problem it was me being a little attached to the domain name. I guess it was because it is my first good domain. :)

Thank Again!

<sale going through as mentioned above> :)

Glad to see you go through with the sale. It's very important to keep your word in business.

Hmm... I know what you mean, that feeling only lasts until you find
an even better one :)

It's all up to you. If that other person does not want you to sell it for XXX ask them if they wan tto buy it fir higher XXX. If not, tell them to put a sock in it or give you a very good reason as to why you should not sell it fir XXX. Makes no sense that you would listen to someone like that unless they have a truly good reason.
