Sure if the global economy tanks.
Otherwise a market the size of the entire USA population has emerged, India is just getting started and Corporations are holding dozens to hundreds of domains rather than just 1.

The next hot Trend ... Portfolios. New investors, -globally.
The next hot FAD........ It's hip to be New "G" or cctld. (all things geo)

VR, AR, MR, IoT, robots, AI, drones, autonomous cars, bitcoin, beacons, tons of niches to be in.

You seem to hit the nail on the head when it comes to the latest tech trends but I think it's unlikely that all these new techs will come to fruition in the domain world.

Guessing which niche will be popular in domains is tricky so I think diversification and stealth hunting the best domains in each niche is the key.

True! Domainers have to start web developing to counter the renewal costs. It is difficult to hold large portfolio of gTLDs/ccTLDs and not generating any revenue.

I think 4L prounouncables in .TV would do very well. But I do not think longtail domains in this extension will gain any traction. Especially since we are using TVs less, and mobile devices + electronics more.

Yep i also think 4L prounouncables will do very well. So will Shorter .tv names and dictionary word ,names.
.TV means more than television and it is more videos, live, channels related.

Yeah, I know what you mean but there is a lot of competition in the TLD space, and I do not think the owners of .TV are entirely amazing. If they were, .TV would already be more mainstream by now.

4L pronouncables and dictionary words are safe but I am not sure about more longtail dictionary words.

P.S. Super Premium domains like Health.TV, Fitness.TV are good if that's what you mean.
