Ok, just wondering what was the fastest turnaround to flip a domain. By fliping I mean right after you got it wther it was from a Drop, Push, Bought At Auction, Hand Reg Etc, how long AFTER did you turn around and sell it...and what was the price.

I will start...For me it was a dropped domain, reg it and sold it in 2 days for high $XX :sold:

Anyone else?? :hehe:

And don't domains need to be held 60 days before they can be transferred again?

To transfer to a different registrar.

I've sold a couple of LLLL.com names within days of regging them (for 2x their reg fee - so not huge profits, but still pretty good :))

I've got a few domains coming to me over the next week, and I'm confident I'll be able to flip those within 24 hours.

Technically impossible but I know what you mean. I've also found a buyer for a domain I didn't own (yet). :)

How and where do you flip them so fast? I don't get it.

If the names are high enough quality, there's a pretty active market.

That's pretty much it :) The market has changed slightly IMHO, although it used to be easy enough to hand-reg LLLL.com domains and sell them on within days. (You still can, however they have to be pretty nice-looking LLLL.com names).

Plus the domains I have coming to me over the next week are definitely higher quality than the ones that are available for hand regging now, and I didn't pay loads for them, hence I should be able to easily flip those, too :)

Ditto...

Had a bid on Snapnames with only one other bidder... Wasn't really interested in the name as it was TM'd so I contacted the previous owner who wasn't aware the name had dropped and gave them an offer for me to pick it up and they agreed.
I won the bid at $61 and sold it back to the owner for $9K.
I was paid within a week and had possession of the domain for 3 months before the owner could transfer it out, just had the domain pointed to their NS.

Great stories here! You sharp shooters, you!

I regged a 3 character net last year and sold it a month later on Sedo for $400.

I bid and won a LLL.mobi on TDnam a few months ago for $150 and sold it for over double the price a month later. I felt sorry for the orginal seller because even then $150 was a low price to sell for. But of course at the same time I was happy and I was lucky he felt obligated to sell, so many of those people don't bother to complete transactions.

I hand-regged a .mobi in December for $20 (2 years) and sold it for $2,000 four days later!

Also, I'm in the process of selling a .org drop that I picked up sort of by accident last week via Pool (changed my mind and thought I'd cancelled the order, but found out it went through and I got it anyway) -- I was contacted the next day by the organization that dropped it, accidentally as it turned out, and they're now buying it back from me for $750! :tu:

I was approached by a private buyer for that one. Just lucky!

I bought a 2 word dotUS that dropped for reg fee and then sold it less than a month later for $500. Some guy just emailed me out of the blue and offered me $500 through a whois search...

This month, reg'd a .com for $6.95 in the morning, sold it for $70 in the afternoon.

Last fall, picked up a .com on eBay for $50, sold it the next day for high $xxx.

Right place, right time ....

If you have started developing a domain and get an offer how much extra do you charge?
