So I'm really green on the web development concept. But I'm having fun with this. So, my question is this: if I wanted to make site that would be forum in nature, allowing people to post questions and then others to answer, is there a way that you can allow people to move the good answers to a wiki page. I know this is not new and all over the place, but I like to know what would be the term that I would search for this kind of thing?

any help or input would be great.

I think you are saying you will make a forum. Normal forum.

Then you will also make a wiki. Normal wiki.

And the answers that were quite good ones will be moved to the wiki pages.

Yes it can be done but I don't think there is something readymade like this. You might want to look at the forum scripts and their plugins and mods if there is a mod like this then you can just go with that forum script and it will be settled.

Thanks.

thanks Nick...

Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of common terminology for this while I was searching for something like it.

Why not just sticky the good threads,

extract them from the forum db

and change the db to the wiki structure!

check out xoops.org. They provide a free cms script with tons of cool addons including forum, not positive about the wiki though
