You may be able to "cancel" (non-refundable registration fee, of course) the domain(s), depending on the Registrar ... which will effectively get them out of your account (and control), IMHO.
I believe that GoDaddy has this option inside the "Control Panel", for one ... :gl:

All the best!

Just let them drop. In other words, do not renew them. You might even want to cancel them right away, but that probably isn't necessary. Just let them drop when they expire.

Like the post above says. Godaddy offers the option to cancel the domain right away. Not sure of others, though.

I would say don't bother about selling the names. Just wait for the time for the names to drop.

Just a little tibit of info here. A large pharmaceutical company sent me a C&D letter tellign me to let the name drop. They did not require me to hand it over to them or to immediately cancel the registration. Just some info you might find interesting. Not all companies will ask for you to act the same ways.

BTW, they also made me fax them confirming that I would never use their TM in any domains I register as well as in any subdomains or folders or URLs in any way. Talk about anal, huh? :hehe:

My tip: Park them in Sedo or other parking sites.
Dont put them for sale there , only parking.
You can earn nice revenue , but without trying to sell them.
If you'll get an offer from a potential buyer by email dont answer.
Usualy if the company that has the TM would contact you , just let them take it without trying to sell them.

wrong tip !!

if the company see him making money off revenue he have more chances of getting sued !

though my advice is tell them your story and they might be generous enough to pay you 50$ or so for a name. That is the best way, i mean you can let it drop but you are loosing dollars, by letting them know you have nothing to loose but a try :)

good luck

I dropped two domains at Godaddy. I could have waited until expiration but IMO why wait. There was nothing I could do with them anyway so I took the hit. Taught me a good lesson to spend a little time researching before regging on impulse.

These may sound like newbie comments, but I would still ask

1. Isnt there a chance that the TM company would make an offer instead of sueing. Especially if the domain owner and company are in two different countries

2. How would the legal action work , if in different countries?. Wouldnt it be difficuilt & time consuming.

3. If I TM something -- can I claim ownership of .com/.net/.biz and all extensions.? or is it just .com ? How about IDNs

Or maybe it's a good idea if you contacted the companies who's TM you feel you infringing and explain the situation and ask them if they have any objections to you having the domain or would they rather you let it expire. You have nothing to loose that way and possibly they might offer to take it off your hands and then they might offer you some compensation for your honesty. :$:
Just dont mention any money when you approach them initially.

I have some cctlds of major multi national corporations, that make good parking rev.

I donยดt list them for sale and at least on Name Drive nobody can see if you are making money or not.

Personaly I have no sympathy for Billion Dollar Corporations who are too tight to register their name on all cctlds, then cry foul that you are infringing on their trademark.

If you can pony up the bucks for trademark lawyers you can afford to register all cctlds.

I use to have http://wwwamericanexpress.ca/
Got some letters from the lawyers saying I have to transfer it to them. I said no problem to who? They said just let it expire and dont renew it so I did. Now someone else has it parked and making money.

See, my case is closed, why have sympathy with these billion dollar corporations?

They have the money to pay for trademarks and lawyers to issue threats but are to tight to pony up the bucks to protect their name.

The internet has been around for well over a decade, if MultiNationals are to tight to protect their name, Go To Hell.
