Reminds me of an expression I heard awhile back, that has stuck with me: We tend to overestimate the effect technology in the short run and underestimate the effect in the long run. (OK just looked it up - its called AMARA's Law) Certainly, the changes 10yrs out will be as great or greater than the last 10. Buckle up!
